About Wispr Flow Guide
By Driss Lahbil · Independent · Not affiliated with Wispr AI, Inc.
Wispr Flow Guide is an independent resource for anyone thinking about dictating instead of typing. We test and explain voice tools, starting with Wispr Flow, so you can decide what is worth your time and money without wading through marketing copy.
Who runs this site
Wispr Flow Guide is written and maintained by Driss Lahbil, a software engineer. I spend most of my day in a text editor and an inbox, and my wrists let me know it. I started testing dictation apps to type less and think more, and this site is where I write down what I learn so you do not have to repeat the research.
I care about two things here: getting the facts right, and being honest about what a tool does badly, not just what it does well.
How we work
- Test-first. I use the tools for real work before recommending them, not just from spec sheets.
- Verified facts. Prices and features are checked against Wispr Flow's own documentation and dated sources. I keep a fact ledger so numbers stay accurate.
- No drifting prices. I never quote a price that changes by region. I link to the source instead.
- Two-sided. I name what Wispr Flow does poorly (no native Linux app, a weekly word cap on the free plan, cloud processing by default) as clearly as what it does well.
- Alternatives when they fit better. If another tool is the right pick for your case, I say so.
What this site covers
- Setting up Wispr Flow on Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android, and inside apps like ChatGPT and Cursor.
- Whether Wispr Flow is worth it, the free plan, and pricing.
- Accuracy, privacy, and honest comparisons with Superwhisper, Typeless, Otter, Apple Dictation, and other alternatives.
- How-to guides on voice typing, dictating code, and custom dictionaries.
A note on the name
Wispr Flow is often typed as "Whisper Flow", and people confuse it with OpenAI's Whisper speech model. They are different things. This site is about the app, Wispr Flow. If the spelling brought you here, start with Whisper Flow vs Wispr Flow.
Transparency and affiliate relationships
Wispr Flow Guide is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by Wispr AI, Inc. We fund the site through affiliate commissions: if you start a paid plan through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change our editorial judgment. We recommend Wispr Flow where it genuinely wins and point you elsewhere where it does not. See our full affiliate disclosure.
